I still have my first poetry book – Robert Louis Stevenson’s, A Childs Garden of Verses,
illustrated by Alice and Martin Provensen – the spine hasn’t survived but the poems and
illustrations remain vibrant and colourful.

My passion for poetry was reignited by the Massey English BA program, and continues to grow. Hence the reason for this category, which aims to showcase poets dead and alive; copyright permissions will determine whether poems are shared or poetry books critiqued.

I urge you to stop awhile and browse, if like me you can’t imagine a world without either roses, poetry and artisan bread.
