Treasure trove of words, photos & special moments

Posts from the ‘Poetry’ category

“Poetry is an act of peace. Peace goes into the making of a poet as flour goes into the making of bread.”

― Pablo Neruda

I still have my first poetry book – Robert Louis Stevenson’s, A Childs Garden of Verses,
illustrated by Alice and Martin Provensen – the spine hasn’t survived but the poems and
illustrations remain vibrant and colourful.

My passion for poetry was reignited by the Massey English BA program, and continues to grow. Hence the reason for this category, which aims to showcase poets dead and alive; copyright permissions will determine whether poems are shared or poetry books critiqued.

I urge you to stop awhile and browse, if like me you can’t imagine a world without either roses, poetry and artisan bread.

The long-drop

for Brandon & Ethan….holiday buddies Mahinepua, New Year 2014. For every upside, there is a downside. The up – water so clear we see fishes swim…
